Synopsis: The Promise is the story of Alaa AlJuneidi from Hebron. His father defies the odds as a Palestinian going from selling milk off the back of his bike to building a dairy empire. He looms larger than life for young Alaa. On his father’s deathbed, Alaa makes a promise. It is a promise he is unable to share with anyone. One whose meaning he does not fully understand in the moment, but that will torment him until it sets him on a course; a course to summit Everest.
Director’s Biography: Leonardo Avezzano is an Adventure Filmmaker and Explorer. He lives, breathes, and takes active roles in the variety of assignments and personal projects he undertakes. His projects have led him around the world, from mountains to deserts, where Leonardo is most comfortable, and where he thrives as both an image-maker and an explorer. He focuses his visual storytelling on matters linked to nature and personal challenges to advocate for positive change.
