This section is open to Arab films and films whose director is a native Arab or of Arab background.
Only films released in 2025β 2026 are eligible.
All films must be Jordanian premiere. They must not have been previously screened in the country. Films already shown on any VOD or online platforms, TV, or any other similar media, as well as films that are available for purchase are not eligible. The AIFF reserves the right to decide eligibility.
Applicants should clearly indicate on the submission form which category theyβre applying for (multiple categories per film are admitted).
- The film must be feature-length, with a minimum duration of 52 minutes.
- It is the first feature-length narrative by the director; or
- It is the second feature-length narrative by the director, but only if the film includes at least one of the following:
β a first-time feature-length narrative screenwriter; or
β a first-time lead actor in a feature-length narrative; or
β a first-time lead actress in a feature-length narrative.

- Only films (30 minutes maximum) by first-time directors are eligible. This includes: narrative, and animation short films. Short documentaries are not eligible.
- First short film by a director outside of an educational institution is eligible to apply as long as other criteria are met.
- Short-Film Awards will go to the director(s) of the corresponding films.
