Samiha Khrais is a Jordanian writer who worked as a journalist for many Jordanian and Arab newspapers. She is a member of the Jordanian Press Association, Jordanian Writers Society, Arab Writers Union and Pen International.

In addition to being a scenarist and a playwright, Khrais had published 15 novels, including
The Panther’s Tree, Poppy, Books of the Flood, Tree Stump, Slaves Peanut, Yahya and
Blind Spot. Khrais’ work has been translated into Spanish, German, English, French, German, Russian and Serbian.
Khrais won Jordanian and Arab awards including the State Appreciation Award in Jordan, the Hussein Medal for Creative Excellence from Jordan, the Abu al-Qasim al-Shabi Award in Tunisia, the Literary Creativity Award from the Arab Thought Foundation and the Katara Award in Qatar.
