The renowned Spanish producer, honored with an Oscar for 'Belle Époque,' holds an impressive record of accolades at major film festivals like Venice, Berlin, Montreal, and San Sebastian. With over 100 feature films to his credit, including some of Spain's highest-grossing productions, he is a dominant figure in the industry. Notably, he has excelled as a distributor, introducing Spanish audiences to diverse international cinema from classic directors and esteemed auteurs. Cannes paid tribute to his contributions to cinema in 1998, and he was awarded France's Cavalier de les Arts. Serving as President of the FIAPF from 2003 to 2008 further solidified his stature. Recently, he has focused on producing films in the Araba region, notably the successful 'Born a King' in 2019, which became a cornerstone in Saudi Cinema's history.
