Samer Majali

  Samer Majali is a highly accomplished aviation executive with more than 40 years of experience in the industry. He began his career with Royal Jordanian in 1979 and held various executive positions before becoming the President and CEO in 2001. During his tenure, he restructured the airline and implemented a customer service focus that led to profitability from 2004 onwards. He also helped Royal Jordanian become the first Arab and Middle Eastern carrier to join the global alliance, OneWorld. Majali served as the CEO of Gulf Air from 2009 to 2012, and later became the CEO of Saudi-Gulf Airlines and President of Al Qahtani Aviation. He has also held several professional affiliations, including Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors and President of the Arab Air Carriers Organisation AACO. Majali is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society/UK, Chartered Engineer-Engineering Council/UK, and a member of the Engineers Association of Jordan/Jordan. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation/Jordan and the Jordan Tourism Board/Jordan, among others.
