Murad Abu-Eisheh, born in 1992 in Amman-Jordan, is a Student Academy Award winner and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Abu-Eisheh holds a Bachelor's degree in Design and Visual Communication from the German-Jordanian University, and a Diploma in film directing from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. His breakthrough came in 2021 with his film Tala’vision, which was honored with over 70 awards including the Golden Yusr of the Red Sea Film Festival, Best Film Award at the Rhode Island Film Festival, and the Golden Medal of the Student Academy Awards. It made the official shortlist for the 94th Academy Awards.
Through his films, Abu-Eisheh questions socio-political injustices in the Eastern Mediterranean region. His graduation film, A Calling. From the Desert. To the Sea, tackles the liberation of young women from patriarchal structures as they face fears planted by fathers to control their daughters.
