Anchalee Chaiworaporn has been active in both the film industry and academia in Thailand and across Asia. For more than two decades, she has received numerous international grants β including from the Japan Foundation and the Asian Cultural Council, affiliated with the Rockefeller Foundation β to conduct research on Asian cinema in countries such as Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and the United States (New York). Chaiworaporn has authored over ten books on Thai and Asian cinema, published in multiple languages by leading publishers such as Indiana University Press and Liverpool University Press. Through the University of Southamptonβs Vice-Chancellorβs Award, she completed a PhD in Film Studies, specializing in transnational cinema, art and popular cinema, auteur cinema, and film industry studies. She has also been invited to participate in film festivals around the world, including in Busan, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Estonia, Karlovy Vary and Vladivostok.
