Saleh Bakri

Saleh Bakri is a Palestinian actor who began his career on stage before moving into film. He gained early recognition in Palestinian cinema with Annemarie Jacir’s “Salt of This Sea”, which premiered at Cannes and became Palestine’s official Academy Award submission. He starred alongside his father, Mohammad Bakri, in “Wajib” and collaborated with Elia Suleiman in “The Time That Remains” and Rashid Masharawi in “Laila’s Birthday”. Bakri has appeared in international projects including “Salvo,” Critics’ Week Grand Prize winner at Cannes; the Royal Court Theatre’s production of “Fireworks”; and Valerio Rocco Orlando’s video installation “Dialogue with the Unseen”. He starred in Farah Nabulsi’s “The Present”, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Short Film; Maryam Touzani’s acclaimed feature “The Blue Caftan”; Annemarie Jacir’s “Palestine 36”; and Cherien Dabis’s “All That’s Left of You”.
