About AFID

The Amman Film Industry Days (AFID) is the industrial arm of the Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF). This programme of film industry events includes masterclasses, workshops, panels and discussions with directors and film professionals to stimulate filmmakers in Jordan and the region.

In addition, it offers three pitching platforms for projects in development and post-production, whereby a jury will grant in-kind and cash awards to winning projects.

The Amman Film Market is a dedicated space to connect filmmakers with potential funders, partners and distributors, and acts as a launchpad for projects until they reach their final destination: the audience.

In 2025, The Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF) organised The Spark Series (TSS), a brand-new program under the umbrella of Amman Film Industry Days (AFID). TSS marked a first initiative of its kind in the Arab world to spotlight web series as a powerful form of short-form storytelling. Over two days, selected Arab series were screened for an audience of filmmakers, distributors, producers and industry professionals, offering creators a unique opportunity for exposure, recognition and connection.
