Synopsis: The documentary takes viewers to explore the life of immigrants from North African countries in European prisons, and notably in a highly protected detention center in Verona, Italy. A journey through many inspirational stories of remorse, endurance of outlandish cells and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Director’s biography: Azlarabe Alaoui is a Moroccan film director, screenwriter, producer and a university professor holding a Ph.D. in the audio-visual and cinematic field. He has made films in a wide array of genres, yet focused more on human rights issues. He first directed short narrative films, as well as a number of documentaries for “Al Jazeera Documentary Channel”. Then, he directed a feature narrative “Androman… Blood and Coal” in 2012, which has won 17 national and international awards, followed by another feature narrative “Kilikis…The Town of Owls” in 2018.
