Before starting his acting career in the Arab world, Dhafer LโAbidine enjoyed a successful career in the West, appearing in international productions such as โThe Looming Towerโ, which received four Emmy nominations. In 2020, he had a key role in โThe Eddyโ, produced and directed by Oscar-winner Damien Chazelle.
LโAbidine starred in โAroos Beirutโ as well as โHalawat AlDouniaโ, for which he won the Murex Dโor for Best Arab Actor in a TV Series.
In 2021, LโAbidine started his production company Double A Productions and directed his first feature film โGhodwaโ, which he co-wrote, starred in and produced in Tunisia. After its world premiere at Cairo International Film Festival, โGhodwaโ scooped the International Federation of Film Critics prize in 2021 and competed at the AIFF in 2022. In 2023, LโAbidine directed his second film โTo My Sonโ which was screened across the Middle East and won best script and best film at the Arab Hollywood film Festival.
