Susan Youssef is best known for her dramatic features "Habibi” and “Marjoun and the Flying Headscarf”, streaming now on Netflix. Her work on "Habibi” has won her awards internationally, including NETPAC and FIPRESCI prizes. “Marjoun” was featured on Sundance’s “9 Essential Independant Films”. Youssef is writer/director of the 21st Century Fox-commissioned short “Amsterdam to Anatolia”, which is also on Netflix. Several of her works were official selections at festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Toronto International, and Sundance. She is a Fulbright Fellow, Princess Grace Award Winner, Yale University Poynter Fellow, MacMillan Center Artist in Residence, and 21st Century Fox Director Fellow. Susan has been a Guest Speaker at Yale, Harvard, Princeton, the State Department, and many other institutions around the world. Prior to filmmaking, she was a schoolteacher and journalist in Beirut.
