The Other Cheek

Synopsis: When Nashaat’s daughter is viciously attacked by his neighbours’ dog, he is aggrieved to hear claims that she provoked the attack. Unreconciled emotions lead to a heated confrontation with his ex-wife, leaving the cornered father with no choice but to take out frustrations on the perpetrator.

Directors’ Biography: After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo and joining a summer workshop at UCLA, Sandro Canaan moved to Paris to complete his master’s of Fine Arts in Directing Film at EICAR film school. Since returning to Egypt, he has worked as an Assistant Director on titles including “Diamond Dust”, directed by Marwan Hamed, and “Resistance”, a co-production between the UK and UAE directed by Maurice Sweeney. He was the Editor of “About Separation”, a short by Kawthar Younis.
