Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film Brings Together Acclaimed Guests for Its Public Conversations

Amman, 8 July 2026 – The Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film now unveils the jury for the Amman Film Industry Days, featuring distinguished film professionals who will evaluate the selected projects in the development and post-production platforms.
The jury will assess projects in three categories: development for first-time Jordanian directors, development for Arab projects and post-production for Arab projects, awarding both financial and in-kind support to Arab talents.
This year’s Industry Days feature 20 projects: five Jordanian first-feature projects in development, ten Arab feature projects in development, and five Arab projects in post-production.
Jury Members
- Avelina Prat: A Spanish director and screenwriter.
- Ayman El Amir: An Egyptian director, producer and script consultant.
- Mehdi Barsaoui: A Tunisian writer and director.
- Rand Beiruty: A Jordanian director, writer and producer.
- Talal Al-Muhanna: A Kuwaiti Film and television producer.
Jordanian Short Film Incubator
This year, in partnership with the Royal Film Commission – Jordan, the Amman Film Industry Days launched a new programme aiming to support 15 Jordanian short film projects currently in development. Throughout the programme, the selected filmmakers worked closely with mentors in script development, dossier preparation and pitching training, culminating in a dedicated pitching session before a dedicated jury, the projects will compete for a cash development award.

- Tarek Abu-Lughod: A Jordanian producer and distributor.
- Saja Kilani: A Jordanian actress.
Beyond the pitching platforms, the Amman Film Industry Days will continue to offer a program of panels, masterclasses, workshops and public talks addressing key industry topics, emerging trends and the evolving challenges facing filmmakers today.
