Adila Bendimerad

Adila Bendimerad is an Algerian actress, screenwriter, director and producer based in Algiers. She trained at the National Theatre of Algiers before joining Tim Supple”s production “One Thousand and One Nights” (2011). On screen, she has collaborated with major MENA directors, including Merzak Allouache “The Repentant”, “The Rooftops”, “Normal!” In 2024, she appeared in “Ma part de Gaulois” by Malik Chibane and “Barbès Little Algeria” by Hassan Guerrar. Founder of the production company Taj Intaj, she produced “The Days Before” by Karim Moussaoui (2013, Locarno, César-nominated), and Damien Ounouri”s “Kindil el Bahr” (2016, Cannes Directors” Fortnight) and “The Last Queen” (2022, Venice Film Festival), which she co-wrote, co-directed, and starred in. For that last film, she won the Best Scriptwriter award at the AIFF in 2023.
