Amjad Al Rasheed is a Jordanian director and writer whose debut feature film βInshallah A Boyβ premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival (La Semaine de la Critique), marking the first-ever Jordanian selection at Cannes. The film won the Audience Award at the AIFF and the Gan Foundation Award and had since screened at over 140 festivals, receiving around 40 international and regional awards.
Amjad was selected for the Berlinale Talent Campus and named one of Screen Internationalβs Arab Stars of Tomorrow. His short film βThe Parrotβ (2016), starring Hend Sabry, was screened at over 30 festivals. He has also served on international juries and led regional film education initiatives, including mentorship at the Sundance Collab for Syrian youth.
