Diamand Abou Abboud

After earning her Master’s in acting and directing, Diamand Abou Abboud began her career in theatre. Her short film “Point Virgule”, which she wrote and directed, won the Special Jury Award at the European Film Festival in Beirut. She made her film debut in “Beirut Open City” and “Here Comes the Rain” and later co-wrote and starred in “Void” (2013), receiving recognition including Best Script at MAFF in Sweden. Her performance in “Insyriated” earned her Best Actress awards at the Angoulême Film Festival (France) and the Cairo International Film Festival. She also appeared in “Stable Unstable”, “The Insult”, and ARTE’s “Eden”. In 2021, she starred in Netflix”s first Arabic original “The Perfect Strangers”. Her role in “Arzé” (2023) earned her Best Actress at CIFF, the Asian World Film Festival and the Hollywood Arab Film Festival. She served on juries at major international film festivals and is currently pursuing a PhD in theatre.
