The 7th Edition of the Amman International Film Festival Looks Beyond the Frame
June 4, 2026Amman, 15 June 2026 – The Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film (AIFF) is pleased to announce the projects selected to participate in the Pitching Platforms of the Amman Film Industry Days (AFID), pursuing its support to Arab filmmakers.
Following an open call that attracted 154 submissions from across the region, the filmmakers will pitch their projects in front of a jury of industry professionals who will assess their artistic vision, originality, potential for growth and grant cash and in-kind awards accordingly. AFID will be held from the 27th of July until the 1st of August 2026 during the 7th edition of the AIFF.
Commenting on the richness and diversity of this year’s selection of projects, Bassam Alasad, Head of Industry Development, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships at the AIFF and Head of AFID, said:
“This year, we see a clear growth not only in the number of projects selected, but also in the quality, ambition and range of the submitted stories. In line with this year’s festival theme “Beyond the Frame”, the projects look beyond the image: the impact of displacement, the silence of families, the weight of memory, the fragility of belonging and the questions that make each story a cinematic necessity.
