The 7th Edition of the Amman International Film Festival Looks Beyond the Frame

Amman, 3 June 2026 – The Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film is pleased to announce the theme and official artwork of its upcoming 7th edition, set to take place in Jordan from the 26th of July until the 3rd of August 2026.

This year’s edition unfolds under the theme “Beyond the Frame”, commenting on it, the President and co-Founder of the Festival, Princess Rym Ali, says: “Beyond the Frame is an invitation to look further: beyond the image, beyond the screen and into the human stories that connect us. It is a recognition that some of the most essential parts of a story can lie just outside the edges; that beyond the image, there exists a variety of points of view.” She adds: “In a rapidly changing world and while AI impacts artistic tools in an unprecedented way, cinema remains a profoundly human act. It continues to expand our understanding of one another and to open new perspectives.”

Nada Doumani, Festival Director and co-Founder, states: “As the Festival continues to grow, we will celebrate films that exceed the limits of the camera frame. More than ever, artists, intellectuals and cultural operators need to come together and remain attentive to stories that resist confinement and voices that continue to resonate long after the image fades.”

Echoing this year’s theme, the official artwork for the Festival’s seventh edition was conceived and designed by the creative agency “FromSoda”, visually reflecting the idea of moving beyond the image towards wider horizons.

Further details regarding the Festival’s programme, participating films, juries and guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
